Step 1. Launch Android Data Recovery

In the first, download and launch Android Data Recovery. Then choose "Data Recovery" on the main interface, and connect your Android phone to computer via a USB cable after opening USB debugging. You can follow the steps in the window to open it.


 

And if your Android os version is 4.2.2 or above, there will be a pop up message on your Android phone, just tap on "OK" to allow USB debugging.

Step 2. Select the file types

When your Android phone is connected, the program will display the type of data for you to select. By default, all the file types are checked. You can just select what you want to recover and then click "Next" to continue.

Step 3. Scan your phone for the lost content

Then the program will be ready to scan your Galaxy J1/J2/J3/J5/J7. It has two modes "Standard Mode" and the "Advanced Mode", and you can read their description. We recommend you choose "Standard Mode" first, which can work faster. If it doesn't find the data you want, you can try another mode. Then click "Start" to begin the scan process.

Step 4. Preview and recover the lost text messages

The scan process will last for a while, when it completed, you can preview the scanned result through Android Data Recovery. You can choose the types of file on the left menu and the details will be displayed on the right side. Check them one by one and finally click "Recover" to save them on your computer.
